Fees and rebates
The cost of a 50 minute session is $275. Longer sessions of 80 minutes are available for EMDR processing and cost $300. In person and telehealth appointments are available.
Under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative, most people are eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $141.85 for up to 10 individual sessions in a calendar year (1 January to 31 December).
To access mental health treatment under Medicare you must be referred by your GP or a psychiatrist. If a GP is the referring practitioner they will need to prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan before referring you to a psychologist. You should book a longer session with your GP to enable time for this. A referral is for a maximum of six sessions, after which your referring doctor will assess your progress and determine whether further sessions are needed.
